My Fitness Guru Privacy Policy

Introduction

My Fitness Guru is subjected to the National Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) as amended by the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 (Cth).

MY Fitness Guru will control the collection, security, quality, use and disclosure of personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

This Privacy Policy explains in general terms how My Fitness Guru protects the privacy of your personal information under the National Privacy Principles. It will apply to any

personal information you provide to us when registering to our services and / or applying for memberships.

Information provided by you to My Fitness Guru will be used:

to fulfill functions in providing services to our clients

to maintain registration and membership records

to enable members to access the services and benefits available to members of My Fitness Guru

to provide information

to conduct research and surveys to identify and analyse the ongoing needs of members

My Fitness Guru allows the commercial use of the registration and membership lists in a controlled manner to outside bodies proposing mail-outs. If, as a registered professional and / or a member of My Fitness Guru, you wish to have your name excluded from these commercial lists, please advise My Fitness Guru in writing.

Disclosure of Information We disclose your personal information, which is limited to the confirmation or otherwise of registration and / or membership status, to third parties ; the personal trainers and personal instructors.

We may also disclose your personal information to third party contractors, for example,

to provide e-mail and mail handling services

to supply IT services

to conduct research

In these situations, we prohibit the third party contractors from using personal information about you except for the specific purpose for which we supply it.


Other than the above, we will not disclose your personal information without your consent unless disclosure is either necessary to prevent a threat to life or health, authorised or required by law, reasonably necessary to enforce the law or necessary to investigate a suspected unlawful activity.

Consequences if Information Is Not Provided If you choose not to provide all or part of the personal information when required, My Fitness Guru may not be able to deliver the services you request.


Access to Personal Information You have the right to request access to your personal information held by Fitness Australia. You also have the right to request the correction of

any information, which relates to you and is inaccurate. Any request for modification of information should be advised to Fitness Australia.
